Jan's "Living with Cancer" Fund

Donation protected
My mother is one of the strongest people I know. She practically raised my brother & I all on her own. All while attending school & working full time. She's been both a mother & father to us (our father passed away in 1999).

However in November of my 15th year my mother was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, one of the more aggressive forms of breast cancer. She battled it hard with lots of chemotherapy & radiation & was able to overcome it. Yet sadly, after about 2-3 years of being cancer free, it returned.

Her breast cancer has returned at least 5-6 times over the last 7 years. This past fall, October 2012, it went even further. My mom's doctor's found a golf ball sized tumor in her brain as well as another tumor in her chest area. We were all devastated. It was also during this time, just two weeks before my mom's surgery to remove the tumor from her brain, that my stepfather left our family. My mom was devastated.

All while dealing with the pain from my stepdad's abandonment, my mom did all necessary cancer treatment and became cancer free once again.

About a month and a half ago she started complaining of terrible, piercing head aches. 3 weeks ago I took her for an MRI of her brain. Her doctor's found that there are 7 small spots on her brain that are cancerous. They told us that if she did not treat them she would die in months.

However, if she did do treatment she could possible live another year or even maybe two. She decided to do the treatment. She's currently undergoing two weeks of full brain radiation. She goes every single day all while still working full time. She's exhausted. Mentally & physically. One side effect of the full brain radiation is hair loss. Her doctor's say that she will be bald by the end of the two weeks radiation period. A nice wig is one item that I would love to be able to afford for my mother. One that she can wear to work & feel confident about.

If my mother truly only has about a year left to live I would love to make this year as easy on her as possible. Since my stepdad left all of the financial burden has been on my mother. We have had to hire some help, such as a guy to mow our lawn every two weeks. We also have a in ground pool with takes a lot of care. We went from being a two income household to a one income household and if any of you have ever had to do that you know it's incredibly difficult.

My mom has had to work harder than ever this past year due to many reasons and I would love for her to get some relief. She deserves it.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated & would go towards:
Medical Bills
Medications
A wig
Lawn & pool care
Groceries
& so on. I really just want to try to make my mother's life easier.
