<li>My mother has been going through her rehabilitation journey and transferred to the glenrose. Her situation is looking better but she still cannot stand on her own for very long just yet. We have started preparing for her return home in the next coming month or so by discussing accessibility needs around the house. Please feel free to reach out to Shawn or myself(Cole) before visiting so we can schedule people accordingly and let her know so she can be somewhat mobile to enjoy time in a space away from her bed. Thank you all so much this means the world to our family and our dear mom.

<li>Hello, my name is Cole Robinson and I am one of Jan's two children. I hope you all know how hard it is for me to reach out and ask for help regarding the state of my mother's situation but here we go. My mother was in a car accident through no fault of her own. She was stopped in traffic when she was rear ended by a semi truck travelling at a high speed. Being stable and at home for weeks until things took a turn for the worst, thankfully my brother and my dear Aunt were able to act fast and get her back to the hospital. The result was a blood clot behind her heart that forced a build up of fluid. This caused her spine to weaken allowing infection inside the spinal cord. The amazing doctors at the U of A hospital saved her life, putting 18 screws and metal rods into her spine after they cleaned up the infection. She is still in the ICU for over a week now, temporary paralysis with a good chance of recovery, but our mother is still very lucky to be alive today and we appreciate any support to help her situation as it progresses. It will be a long recovery as we are hoping for the best but still preparing for the worst, making sure she has a good quality of life after she is returned home. If you or anyone you know has met or been involved with my mom in sports, school or her many hobbies and interests please reach out to either Shawn or myself to inquire further as she will not have access to her computer (which was destroyed in the accident) or her phone (due to her impairment).
