On Sunday April 12th, Janette Seely was found lying on her bedroom floor with a 103.6 fever. She was rushed to the hospital via EMS where we would soon learn that she had multi-organ failure due to septic shock which had turned to pneumonia in her lungs.

Her first night in the hospital we were told she probably wouldn’t make it through the night. Her blood pressure crashed and was on all the medication they had to keep it in the 60s, her fever reached 106.7 and they had to inject a catheter with cooling saline to stop it front climbing, and had her on a ventilator with 100% oxygen flow.

She beat every one of these machines when they continued telling us she wouldn’t and we continued to pray for miracles. They couldn’t tell us why her 70 year old body, which was already weak from lymphoma cancer only years prior, was able to fight all this but we knew why; God wasn’t ready for her yet. Once she became stable she was transferred to Cornerstone Rehabilitation Center where we were confident of her improving strength and return.

Out of the blue, she got another infection which again turned to pneumonia. Her body was far too weak to fight again.

At 6:35am, on Tuesday May 14th, our mother went to heaven.

I don’t know who is going to read this but our mother was a one of a kind human being. More selfless than you could ever imagine and every second of her life was spent thinking of how she could make other people’s lives better. She raised her Down Syndrome  brother when their mother passed away and was so strong. She was such a strong Christian woman and really lived it daily. No matter how bad a situation got, she would calmly remind us to trust inGod and pray. The hard part is during these kinds of times, she is who we turn to. She gave up a life of financial stability to raise her kids and grow. She is our best friend and we talked to her every single day.

We have such a long road ahead of us and, I just ask for any little bit of help from friends and family. My dad is going to have to sell his house, the hospital bills, funeral bills, and trying to help my mother’s family get down here.

Anything helps, thank y’all and God bless.
