JanetCreel"Mommy & Nanny" Memorial

As many know, Janet Creel, often referred to by most as Mommy & Nanny, left this earth on Tuesday, October 10th at the age of 80.  To say that her passing was a shock would be an understatement. She had been dealing with some health complications for the last few months and was recently diagnosed with cancer.  She was surrounded by loved ones in Fairfax when she peacefully passed on her own terms.


As a parent, she birthed 6 daughters and 1 son. She was preceded in death by her daughters Elizabeth and Pamela and is survived by Pattye, Claudia, Blane, Kimmy, and Heather. She has 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Nanny was heavily involved in all of her grandkids lives and was a great mom to all of her children. From screaming baby cakes at wrestling matches, watching football games (she loved WVU football and Tiger Woods), going to plays or attending any celebration she could, she was the biggest fan of her grandchildren.  She loved Thanksgiving because it brought her big family together and she treated others like her own.


With an outpour of support from friends and family all over, in lieu of flowers the family is asking that anyone who would like to contribute make donations for a memorial for Janet Creel aka Nanny. The funds will be used to help with procuring a headstone and offsetting other funeral expenses, as well as donating money to BDHS and Liberty Athletics. Nanny was a huge philanthropist and loved her BDHS Wrestling and Liberty Athletics!! She was also a huge supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. A percentage will be donated in her name to the above mentioned groups.
