After 5 years of fertility treatments and preparing our home study, our savings have been depleted. The money we would like to raise is for our adoption fees. Generally, adoptions range from $20,000-$45,000. Fees accumulate in a variety of manners. For example, there are legal fees, travel, medical expenses for the birth mother as well as other forms of support and counseling. We know this process is going to be long and at times difficult, but we are ready and excited for the outcome. Any donation size is greatly appreciated...prayers appreciated as well! For those of you that don't know us, in October of 2000, we were introduced in college by two mutual friends. From that point on, our relationship fit together like two puzzle pieces. They say opposites attract and that statement rang true from the beginning for us. Janet grew up in the hustle and bustle of Long Island, New York and Jason was used to the slower paced lifestyle in rural Maryland. We loved the unique qualities each of us possessed as individuals. Each other’s strengths balanced us out perfectly. In
December of 2006 during a trip to New York City, after asking her father for her hand (whew...he was nervous), Jason proposed to Janet in Central Park. To celebrate the occasion, we enjoyed a couple hot dogs and split a coke from a street corner vendor (hey…..we’re casual).
In 2008, we were married in front of a large gathering of our family and friends and the adventure that started in 2000 began a new chapter and each day since has been filled with love and adventure. We always knew we wanted to start our family, but after years of failed fertility treatments and a miscarriage, we have answered our calling to grow our family through adoption. Although we have struggled with infertility, we are blessed in so many ways and look forward to being blessed with the missing piece in our lives, a child to love.
