Janet Hare Meek cancer fund

Hi
IM Martin Meek and my wife is Janet.
We got Married on june 17th 2017(saturday)

September 4th, 2017
Our family has recently learned that Mom (Janet) has a very rare and tumorous cancer. We’ve been told that this specific type of cancer (Malignant Sarcomatoid) is so aggressive, they have already labeled it as progressed to the 4th stage, which will require immediate treatment of chemo therapy.
In the beginning of July, Janet felt that something wasn’t right and was later found she had three massive tumors, each one attached to three of her major organs, and needed attention immediately.
From there, she visited with several doctors and specialists here in Wichita, had several samples sent off to be observed by the Mayo clinic, as well as undergone biopsies, scans and other miscellaneous testing, and was finally directed to the Cancer Treatment Center of America (or CTCA). She looked into the closest location to home, the CTCA in Tulsa, which unfortunately didn’t accept Janet’s insurance she has through her employer. She ended up being sent to the CTCA in Phoenix, AZ, which is about 1,000+ miles (or 16 hours away) from home. When she arrived at the CTCA in Phoenix, they started on testing and looking for treatment immediately.

In the middle of August, the CTCA had determined the type of cancer and suggested removing a kidney, in hopes it was the originating place of the Sarcoma. Which unfortunately, later to find out was not.
Since we only just learned of this news back in July, it has been an emotional roller coaster for our entire family and of course though these treatments and appointments may be able to save her life, unfortunately they also leave behind a very hefty bill, which should be the last thing anyone in this condition should have to worry about paying for!
Janet and her husband, Martin, are both employed at a not-for-profit company out of Wichita that focuses on work for the blind and visually impaired. Despite both of them truly enjoying what they do, if you’re familiar with these organizations, their employees typically do not make much.

Growing up, Janet always had an open door and a room for anyone that needed help getting back on their feet. She worked countless hours of overtime to ensure her children had clothing on their backs and food on the table and never asked for assistance. She has remained so positive on the opportunity to overcome this, but still isn’t sure how they will be able to cover the bills for the travel, lodging, appointments and meds.
I am hopeful some of the individuals she has helped in the past, or anyone that is in a position to help, might be able help her too in her time of need. Any help is greatly appreciated.
