Jane’s cycle for PPE for carers
Team Podiatry consists of podiatrists from Cardiff Metropolitan University (CMU) and Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB)
Gafin Morgan, an Extended Scope Practitioner Podiatrist working in CTMUHB devised a design for a protective face visor (as seen in the picture), that he manufactured on his 3D printer in order to protect his colleagues working in the hospital environment.
He has done this free of charge using his own money and is happy to keep doing so.
However, each visor takes 40 minutes to make and purchasing another printer would speed up the process and allow Gafin to produce more visors that could be sent to care home staff for their protection.
Jane Lewis, a senior podiatry lecturer working at CMU is going to use her love of cycling to undertake a mammoth challenge to try and raise the funds to help Gafin in his quest. She had planned to cycle 180 miles from Llandudno to Cardiff but is going to complete this cycle on a stationary bike in her house on Wednesday 22nd April to try and raise the funds for the urgently needed PPE if you’d like to support us in this quest to get this equipment to the people that need it then please consider a donation. A small amount can have a huge impact in the challenge that we face protecting the vulnerable from COVID-19 . Thanks for reading.
