JandyStrong 20∙20 - Virtual Fundraising Event

Donation protected
Welcome to the JandyStrong 20·20 Fundraising Page!

This is the 6th annual Team JandyStrong event, and this year looks a bit different. The JandyStrong 20·20 is a virtual fundraiser and activity challenge throughout the month of September, with the goal of meeting two aspirational milestones as one unified team:

- Raise $20,000 for spinal cord injury research and advocacy
- Accrue 20,000 points based on the Activities Scoring System below

Activities Scoring System:
1 mile Bike             = 0.25 pts
1 mile Run/Walk   = 1.0  pts
1 mile Swim           = 4.0  pts
1 Team Event        = ???  pts

This event is intended for EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE, at ANYTIME! We encourage all Team JandyStrong supporters to participate, involve their family and friends, and join one another to complete these outdoor activities in a FUN and SAFE manner. The event will take place from 9/1-9/30, building up to a final Push Day on Sunday 9/27, which marks the 6-year anniversary of Jake's accident.

(Instructions for signing up and logging activities can be found at the bottom of the page.)

Each of the last two years, Jake used a customized tandem trike – engineered by himself and other UW-Madison students – to complete the Chicago Half Marathon alongside Team JandyStrong. 2019 was a tough race, but Jake (and captain Jackson Spingler) battled through the pouring rain and an errant instruction off course to complete the 13.1 mile ride in under 90 minutes. It was a true testament to the spirit of this cause! For the JandyStrong 20·20, Jake has set the ambitious goal of completing a 20 mile ride on September 27th.

We are continuing this tradition to raise money for paralysis research and cure advocacy, in support of our good friend Jake Anderson, as he continues to embark on his journey of recovery from a severe spinal cord injury. This year ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE and will be directed toward two influential nonprofit organizations doing critical work in this field. Here is a quick breakdown of exactly where your donation will go:

           50% to Unite 2 Fight Paralysis (www.u2fp.org)

50% to Get Up Stand Up to Cure Paralysis (www.gusu2cure.org)

Progress updates on fundraising and scoring will be provided every Wednesday and Sunday throughout the month of September. Be sure to follow the Team JandyStrong accounts below to stay updated on our progress and upcoming Team Events.

We thank every one of you for your continuous support and hope to see you on Strava in the coming weeks!

With love and appreciation,

Team JandyStrong
