Please Help Support Chris Orengo in This Time of Loss

Our dear Jamie Hevelow passed away on August 6, 2025, after a brave and relentless battle with esophageal cancer. She fought for over a year with the same grace, strength, and kindness she was known for her whole life.

During this time, her 23-year-old son Chris Orengo never left her side. He made the difficult decision to quit his job to care for his beautiful mother full-time. Jamie was his world, and he was hers. In her final months, her first love Ben (Chris's dad) was also able to be by her side in Virginia—bringing their little family together for Jamie’s final chapter, just the way she would have wanted.

If you knew Jamie, you knew love. Her heart was enormous—she lived to give, to feed, to hug, and to care for others. Whether it was sharing her delicious meals, offering handmade gifts from Hobby Lobby, or just being a shoulder to cry on, Jamie gave with her whole heart.

She was a mother not only to Chris, but to so many of us. Her niece Crystal shared, “She was the kindest person you could ever meet… a silent warrior, a protector, and someone who always made you feel heard and loved.”

Now, we want to give back—especially to Chris, who has lost not only his mom, but his foundation and caretaker. This time should be for grieving, not for worrying about finances. We're asking our friends, family, and community to rally around him and the Orengo family with love and support—whether that’s through donations, meals, or simply sharing this message.

Let’s show Chris that the love Jamie gave to the world is still here, surrounding him.
