Help Us with James' Recovery

Dear Family and Friends

We are seeking your financial assistance for the recovery process for James Keyes Sr.

As a lot of you may know James has been diagnosed Glioblastoma which is a brain cancer at stage 4, for those of you who have not heard the story.

James woke up on May 31, 2017 feeling really great; he decided to work out on his stationery bike. When it was time for him to get off of the bike he realized that he felt total numbness on his right side. He called out to me – his wife, I went downstairs to see my husband flexing his fingers as he is telling me that he has no control over the right side of his body.
James was rushed to the hospital and we discovered that his brain was bleeding. Through the night his brain kept bleeding and in the morning he could only move his arm across his body. He had no mobility on the right side of his body. The doctors began to conduct their test. The internist was the conductor of the research to try to determine what caused James' brain to bleed. The internist invited the neurologist, neurosurgeon, oncologist, physical therapist, and the speech therapist, to be apart of the team. They would perform a CT scan, MRI, EEG, EKG, and spinal tab. James went from one test to the next with no improvement and no answers.
They refused to say that James had a stroke. The only test they refused to perform was a brain biopsy. They decided that he needed to get to rehab. For 39 days James worked as hard as he could and did everything they told him to do at rehab. Now, to get James home I had to completely renovate parts of our home and we had to take out a personal loan. Before he was to be released they ran one last MRI. At that time they discovered that James had three spots on his brain, two additional spots from the one that had previously bled. We were sent to the same oncologist who told us James did not have cancer earlier. He referred us to a neurosurgeon who said we needed a brain biopsy.
We were scheduled to have the brain biopsy on August 3, 2017. On August 2, 2017, James had a second brain bleed. This time he lost all mobility on his right side and he now also has aphasia –expression. (This is the condition where you struggle to gather your words to express yourself.) The brain biopsy turned into an excavation. They found a brain tumor, it was later identified as a glioblastoma. Gliobastoma sometimes referred to as glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), is considered a grade 4 tumor. This type of tumor is the most aggressive and are very infiltrative -- they spread into other parts of the brain quickly. Glioblastomas doesn't metastasize outside of the brain.

I am seeking your financial assistance and prayers because there are more renovations needed in order for James to come home. James now needs an external stair lift , a hospital bed , and other medical supplies. James is also in need of a nurse because, he cannot be left alone. James also needs to be transported daily for radiation treatments, and a list of numerous items that the insurance company does not cover. James has been married to me for 30 years. I was told on August 8, 2017 that he would die because of this brain tumor. This date is James birthday and our wedding anniversary. James is 57 years old and the father of our six children. We are blessed to have one son, five daughters and one grandson who turned three years old on the day his Pop Pop brain bled the first time. Any help you can give our family would be appreciated. We are standing on the words of God – that James will live and not die! We are seeking God for a miracle. If you know the words of prayer please pray with us.
Much Love!
