Natural Disaster Recovery

In July 2017, Lake County Illinois took on so much rain in such a short period of time that the State of Illinois requested to receive a presidential disaster declaration.  My basement was one of those locations that took on water while I was away on a Naval assignment. When I returned and called the insurance agent I was reminded that I did not have coverage for pump sump backup and I reminded her that I don't own a pump sump nor was the water damage due to any drains backing up. The damage wasn't covered under flood insurance either as the water did not come over the ground but more of a swelling of the groundwater. The water damage fell in between a gap of any insurance coverage.

I was just handed today the estimate to remove the black mold and make my house healthy again.  I now have to come up with $18,009.58. When that process is done then an estimate will be put together for how much it will cost to reduce the risk of water leaking again and put everything back together. This is on top of already inheriting a history of issues the city has had with previous owners that will cost me thousands to comply with the city requirements and my mortgage bill going up $700 starting in December 2017 to cover the increase in taxes.

I need to come up with the funds in just a few days so the work can begin ASAP.
