On the night of April 30th James was hanging out with some old friends who came up for a visit. They went to the Fruita desert to have fun and ride some dirt bikes. After an evening of fun James was on his way home from Fruita when a deer ran in front of him, he swerved to avoid hitting it and in doing so he lost control of the car and it collided with the guard rail on the side of the road. when he hit the guard rail it went through the wheel well of the 4-Runner and crushed his right foot against the back seat of his car, pinning it in place. He was rushed to the hospital and the doctors there where able to put it back together. Unfortunately, even with all their efforts the heel of his foot is dying and he requires surgery to amputate his foot on June 2nd. James will be in the hospital for another 5 to 6 days post operation to ensure his leg is healing properly.
James has been out of work since the accident, and needs help with everything from hospital bills to covering the mortgage for his house, as well as needing help with some modifications to his home. He is also unsure how his insurance will be covering his prosthetic leg so we are hoping they will cover everything but understand he may need help with paying for that as well. James has stayed very positive throughout this whole experience and feels that he is taking the best route he can for this injury and even though he is having his foot amputated he remains optimistic and thinking positive through out everything. He is hoping to return to the disc golf course soon and get back to doing what he loves.
Thank you for your help and positive vibes!
