Mission Trip to Haiti ~ April 2018

Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
In a couple of months in mid-April I will be traveling on a mission trip to Haiti, one of the poorest regions in the world. I am in 9th grade at Archbishop Williams High School and preparing for my Confirmation. I participate in the Life Teen program at Ressurection Parish in Hingham, MA (Part of the St.Paul / Resurrection Parish collaborative). In order to participate, I am required to raise funds for the poor people and children that live in Haiti. I will be traveling with some of my peers in the confirmation class and one of the best priests ever, Father Sinisia and our awesome youth minister Michayla! https://seasidelifeteen.org/

The opportunity to travel in this young group of missionaries is an opportunity I think will help me grow spiritualy and deepen my faith and I did not want to miss it. I strongly feel that this opportunity to travel to Haiti is God calling me to serve and do His work for the children, poor and disabled of Haiti.

I will leave for my week-long trip on April 14th 2018. I will arrive in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti and then travel seven hours on dirt roads into the mountains to reach the villages. The trip is sponsored by Haiti 180, whose founder is Sean Forest, a long-time missionary that is credited with developing and building an orphanage, school, medical clinic, and residence for the elderly. https://haiti180.com

I am going to be helping and working on various projects during the week. In particular we will be spending time at an orphanage, an elderly home, a school, and we will visit a handicap women that lives by herself on a mountain in a shack. I want to help as much as I can while in Haiti and I will do my best at any challenges that approach me while I am there.

Our group has been collecting specific items and we will be bringing these supplies in a suitcase such as clothing, shoes, household and bathroom materials. I am attempting to fundraise $2,200 dollars. Half of my financial goal will be donated directly to Haiti 180 and will be used for the children and support all the needs of the people we are going to help.

Please consider a donation, any amount helps even $10.00 can help a lot because that can buy essential items such as toothpaste, soap, baby formula, and baby food.

Thank you, for your love, support, and prayers,
James O'Toole
