James Cullen Karpie
1-3-1966 to 1-3-2018
On the morning of January 3, 2018, his birthday, James Cullen Karpie passed away in his sleep after battling liver complications. James leaves behind a beautiful daughter, Jackee-lin, his loving mother Kathleen Carpenter and his best friend and brother, John Karpie. He also leaves behind countless close friends who are devastated by his passing. James was a force of nature, bigger than life. For those who knew him, no words are necessary. For those who never met James, no words will do. James was blessed with a grand smile and a wonderful laugh you could hear from across any room, and he laughed a lot. He made an immediate connection with everyone he met whether a celebrity or a local stopping by the pub to get a drink. He had a love of music and sports and could talk for hours on either subject. Within his 6’ 4” frame was a huge heart and he wasn’t afraid to use it. Kind to strangers and loyal to friends, he always went out of his way to help others. James was the life of the party and often dressed the part with cowbell in hand to punctuate his infectious personality.
On Sunday, February 18th, family and friends will celebrate the life of James Cullen Karpie. It is unlikely we’ll be able to do it with the flare and laughter James brought to every event he ever attended, but we’ll give it our best.
We all understand there are costs associated with funeral services and arrangements. In an effort to assist James’s family to shoulder some of the financial burden, we've created a GoFundMe page with a goal of $10,000. A gift of any amount will be truly appreciated. Please join us in this benevolent endeavor. Love you James.
