As many of you know the last few years have been difficult for Patt and I.  I was diagnosed with kidney cancer, and a few weeks later Patt was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. I have had two major surgeries, The first removed a seven-pound tumor, my left kidney, and lymph nodes around my aorta.  A year later cancer mestaticized in my right lung resulting in the surgical removal of the bottom lobe. I am now metastatic stage 4 and haven't had a full-time job in two years. Patt's Parkinsons has progressed to the point where she cannot walk unaided, but she has continued to work part-time to support us. We now have medical debt and difficulty covering premiums, co-pays, medications, and scans. This has also made living month-to-month quite a challenge. While it would take a lottery win to dig us out completely, with just a little help we can stay afloat until we have the ability to make some financial corrections. If you know us, you know we hate asking. It's easy to go on like life is normal, but it is not, and we've decided to try what others have by starting this Gofundme.  Patt's disease is progressive, meaning she won't get better. For me, metastatic renal cell carcinoma is incurable. The five-year survival rate is 8%. My most recent discussion with my oncologist was a discussion about when to start medication to extend my time. We are extremely grateful for the support we've already received from family and friends and appreciate anything you can do to help.
