James Fletcher Kicking Cancer Fund

James Fletcher is one of the brightest, most energetic and generous individuals around.  Now he has the biggest physical, emotional and mental challenge ahead of him. On Dec 29th, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma. While his cancer is not curable, the doctors are very optimistic that he will be able to live many fulfilling years with ongoing immunotherapy treatments.  These treatments will continue throughout his life and will be exhausting physically, emotionally and finacially.  James has already begun treatments and his wife, Siri, has been at his side nonstop.  At a time when medical expenses will skyrocket, their income is signicantly reduced and will remain so for quite some time.  In times like these, I believe that one should be able to fully concentrate on the task at hand and not have to be burdened with the overwhelming stress of finances.  While I doubt that we can completely wipe out that stress, I believe that we can do our share to ease this burden.  That is why I am asking you to donate anything that you can to this important cause.

As you may or may not know, James and Siri have always been active, caring and generous members of our community.  They go beyond the average person to seek out how they can support the community at large and the individuals with in the community who may need some support.  Now they need our support.  In addition to the expenses beyond what health insurance doesn't cover, there are many day to day expenses that they will need help with.  Imagine if one day you were told to quit your job that you depend on to feed, clothe and shelter your family and you must begin this other job that not only doesn't pay you, but in fact, will demand more money from you that you ever could dream of spending and at the same time demand everything from you physically and emotionally.  While money is not the answer to this horrible situation, I can tell you first hand that this kind of support can greatly ease the very real stress of daily living and keep James and Siri focused on kicking the crap out of this cancer so they can continue living their beautiful life together.
