Jakobsweg - Camino: Switzerland to Spain

My name is Bruno, and if you've stumbled upon this page, then I suppose I should do you the proper thing and give you the setting of this crowdfunding project.
Long story short: Beginning in Switzerland, I wish to walk the pilgrims' trail of Saint James, the Camino, ultimately ending my journey at the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in Spain.
But why Switzerland? Why not France like the majority of pilgrims? Well, I am Swiss American, and in honor of my lineage and bloodline, I have decided to walk the Camino beginning in Fribourg, Switzerland, at the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas. It is called Jakobsweg (Jacob's Way) there, and with the support of my family still residing in country, I am confident we can make this happen. It will be a very long walk (roughly 1066 miles per my current map) with a large time commitment (roughly 40 days). These calculations seem intimidating, but they are simply numbers. Faith is stronger than any number.
This is a decision of mine that has not been taken lightly. A large amount of thought, prayer, difficult discussions, and pondering went into taking this plunge. For almost two months (roughly), I am essentially sacrificing a large amount of my life back home to fulfill this pilgrimage. But the quest for spiritual purification is rarely an easy road to tread. For me, this pilgrimage is worth every hardship.
The total amount needed to finance this pilgrimage includes being able to afford food, lodging, medical expenses (if any; I'm stubborn), donations, and the occasional hiccup that besets all travelers. With your donations to this pilgrimage, I will be able to afford the bare necessities I need to survive such a distance. I am quite spartan in my needs and do not require any luxuries on the Trail. Apart from necessary food and hostel lodging, I have all the gear I need. Sturdy boots. Thick socks. Hiking pack. And a proper attitude.
