Hey there everyone,
My name is Jakejames Lugo, I'm a content creator and writer within the games industry. I make videos on YouTube, stream on Twitch, and freelance write editorial content for a variety of websites. But because of impactful serious events, my ability to do my work has been brought to a very sudden stop...
Not too long ago, one of my family members has had to deal with medical issues... something that has taken a very big financial burden on myself and my family. It has caused us to address issues and forced us to cut off the internet at home, preventing me from continuing my work posting online content and building my career. Without itm I cannot do the work necessary to help my family during this time. Having to choose between paying for medical expenses or paying Comcast for the internet is not a hard choice, but it is still one that has had devestating effects on the ability to make content for everyone online.
Because of this, I am opening up this GoFundMe to ask for your help. Despite my efforts to look for more freelance work online, continuously apply for jobs elsewhere (on & offline), and ask for help in searching for more paid work to fund and restore things to normal (I've even walked miles to get onto public WiFi areas to do some freelance work when possible, no joke, literally miles within my area...); but it's simply NOT ENOUGH to do so. Our efforts in paying for medical expenses have greatly impacted us and has forced us to cut off the internet at home. For a while since things have come up, I haven't been able to continue my work and have been trying to find various ways to see what can be done to alleviate this issue and regroup. So now, I come to you all asking for help...
With the funds that I am asking for in this GoFundMe, every penny will go towards restoring the internet at home, with all other additional funds being used towards medical expenses and keeping the internet on, so that I may continue to make & post content online thorugh editorials, YouTube videos, Twitch Streaming, and more. If the goal I'm asking for is met, then this is what will follow upon using it to restore everything...
DAILY TWITCH STREAMS - Once the internet is back online at home, I will then provide a schedule of daily Twitch streams for everyone to tune into each week. This means every day of the week, for a minimum of 3 - 4 hours, I will host a stream for everyone to enjoy online & hopefully support. The content of each stream will include gameplay of newly released games, LIVE Q&A with all in the chat, previews of new games, online sessions of popular titles with chat, and even more.
MORE WEEKLY YOUTUBE VIDEOS - In addition to the weekly videos that I had been posting on my YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/GamersWithGainsChannel), I will work to provide even more content throughout the week. With a new game review each week, vlogs on various topics related/not releated to gaming, and various podcast shows that feature special guests from all around YouTube and the games industry. (Suggestions from audience on who to invite would be welcomed).
ADDITIONAL FUNDS TOWARDS EXPENSES - Any and all other funds that come after the goal of this GoFundMe will be geared towards maitaining the internet online at home (to continue posting content), as well as put them towards other medical expenses that come up as we deal with this harsh time. I will actively do my best to be transparent about everything that goes on.
With this all in mind, I humbly come to everyone for help on the matter. I have tried my absolute best to deal with the situation alone and keep things from impacting everything else, but the circumstances have forced me to turn to others for help. I cannot continue my work and help my family without the internet being active, and I can't advance my career making content for everyone online without it. With everything that I have, I hope that you will consider lending me your trust and assistance in getting things back to where they can be.
