Jake Fights Again!

Jake DeHoop is one of the most inspirational men you will meet.  He was diagnosed with Leukemia as a junior in high school.  At that time he excelled on the football and baseball field.  He was quickly forced to take that competitive drive and put it toward the biggest fight of his life.  Along with battling leukemia, he was able to complete high school and graduate with a degree in biomedical sciences from Auburn University.  While at Auburn, he met and courted his wonderful wife, Carly.  He accomplished all of his academic goals and met the love of his life while still fighting this horrible disease.  Finally, in August of 2015, Jake won his battle against Cancer! 

Jake won the battle, but the war is not over.  On Thursday, May 10th, 2018 Jake was informed that he will have to fight again.  The Leukemia has returned, and he will need to undergo more intense treatment.  The initial phase will be inpatient, high dose chemotherapy and then a bone marrow transplant.  With this new challenge, Jake and Carly have had to make some very hard decisions including moving their wedding date, moving back to Seattle, Jake leaving his job and Carly having to continue pharmacy school remotely.

This newly married couple will face many challenges along the road to beating leukemia.  We are asking those who are willing, to consider easing their financial burden.  They will have no consistent income while Carly finishes school.  They also have many medical expenses coming their way including flights back from Alabama to Seattle on Wednesday 5/16/18 and prolonged hospital stays.
