Jai Doesn't Want to Drop out of College

Two years ago when I graduated high-school, I was so depressed because of my non-affirming parents and homophobic, trans-phobic community that I didn't think I would live long enough to make it to college. I am a non-binary person and at home my parents don't respect my gender identity. Miraculously, I found a progressive college with a supportive community and I am finally in an environment where I can be loved for who I am.  I made friends that support me and respect my identity.  I am studying to be a psychologist so I can make information about mental health more accessible to people like me who grew up in unsupportive environments.
Hampshire College recognized my potential as a writer and awarded me a $19,000 annual scholarship, which helped to cover my tuition. I also qualified for a few other scholarships and grants. However, I still owe $1890.00 toward this year's tuition that I must pay by November 1st in order to be able to return for classes this spring.
College is my only safe home right now. I want to pursue a degree in psychology. I don't want to go back to live with my parents where I can't be seen for who I am. Please consider donating to help me pursue my dream career and stay safe.
