Jaelynn's Battle Buddies

So I’ve been reluctant to make this post. But, this is probably the best and easiest form of communication to allow all our friends and family know how our world has been flipped upside down practically over night.
On August 5th, my daughter, Jaelynn, was taken to Keller Army Community Hospital at West Point, NY while visiting her Nani to close out her summer vacation. They ran labs on her and immediately transferred her to Westchester Medical Center’s Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, and placed into the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Upon hearing this news I was allowed to take emergency leave so Jess, Ryann and myself could come up to NY to be with Jaelynn.
On August 6th, we arrived at the hospital at around 9:30am, and shortly after were brought face to face with Jaelynn’s diagnosis. We were told that our princess has Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). This type of leukemia requires at least 5-6 months of chemo therapy if all is successful and recovery time of at least a few months. However, she may need a bone marrow transplant (we DO NOT want this to be necessary).
Yesterday August 8th, Jaelynn had surgery to have a broviac central line placed to deliver chemo therapy and medications, and have a bone marrow aspirate. All of which were successful. Last night she received the beginning of her first round of chemo. She is doing great and has minimal pain.
Please pray or continue to pray for Jaelynn during this time of need.
We have all faith that God will deliver a complete recovery and put this cancer in total remission. This will be just a chapter in Jaelynn’s beautiful life story, and a true testament to the Lords awesome greatness. Jaelynn will also be able to touch others with her testimony, and give them strength to overcome their battles as well.
