Hello! My name is Rachel and I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of my good friends Melissa and Steven Jaeger.
After an unexpected emergency room visit for Melissa, the Jaegers learned their baby girl would be entering the world early, at just 26 weeks. Melissa had developed a very rare form of high blood pressure during pregnancy and the only way to save them both was to deliver. After Melissa was airlifted to Winnie Palmer in Orlando, Isabella Grace Jaeger arrived via emergency c-section on December 23, 2017. She was born 14 weeks early and weighed 450 grams, just under 1 pound. Everyone is so grateful and happy at her arrival, but the Jaeger family still has a long journey ahead to bring their baby girl home. Steven and Melissa continue to visit Izzy everyday to spend as much time with her as possible. Izzy has a mandatory stay in the NICU for a minimum of 100 days but will probably be there until April. The expenses have been overwhelming and will continue to grow over the next few months. This combined with lost wages and regular bills is hard for anyone to do alone.
Izzy is doing great and your prayers are still needed for her strength and health as she continues to grow. We know family and friends support during this time will help them through their journey.
