Jade Campbell's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Damien & Kerryanne Campbell are residents of a very close-knit small country town called Ravensthorpe in WA, around 500km south of Perth. They have always been very involved in our community, playing for and helping out with local sporting teams and events, and always doing their bit to help in any way they can. They are extremely valued and loved members of our beautiful little town. I would bet that almost every person that lives here has been touched by their friendship, their happy natures and generous hearts at some time or other.

What a lot of people don’t realise though, is that Damien and Kerryanne’s eleven year old daughter Jade has been quite unwell these past few years. Jade was diagnosed with an extremely rare Auto-Immune disease called “Juvenile Dermatomyositis” when she was just 6 years old, and has since been fighting some very serious illnesses, as well as the intense and invasive treatments she has been undergoing month after month after month.

Jade has been having Chemotherapy practically every month this year, as the specialists & doctors try to get her auto immune disease under control. She has since developed a serious case of pancreatitis, kidney & liver function problems, calcinosis, blood clots, anaemia, and fluid build-up and cysts around her major organs. She has endured multiple surgeries to remove cysts and insert PIC lines, she has had feeding tubes put in and multiple other procedures. She has been flown to Perth by the Royal Flying Doctors Service on multiple occasions, fighting infections and sickness for years now. They have only just returned home from a 6 week stint in Perth, as Jade was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment, and she has been so unwell that she has dropped a shocking 30kgs in bodyweight in the last couple of months.

Just in the last few days, Jade has been re-admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital again, and has had another operation to re-insert her feeding line and PIC line, and surgeons have drained 2 Litres of fluid from around her pancreas. Once she is well enough she will have to undergo more surgery to remove a large portion of her pancreas, as unfortunately it is now too damaged to be saved. She has to have multiple injections every day, has been given blood products to help her body recover, and is currently being fed through a tube inserted through her nose.

Jade has months and months of intense treatment coming up, with a long stay in Perth to start with and countless trips to Perth thereafter for check-ups and appointments etc. These expenses can be very hard on a family and we would like to help Damien & Kerryanne by raising funds to take some of the financial pressure off, so they can both stay in Perth and focus on their daughter’s recovery. In times like these families need to be together to support each other and we would like to give this beautiful family the ability to do that without any financial stress. Let’s show them how we do it in a small country town, let’s dig deep, raise some money and rally together to support them and show them how much we love them.

**Edit**
Hi guys, I'm Charlie, the creator of this go fund me page and one of Kerryannes best friends. I live in Ravensthorpe. This family have been very near and dear to my heart for many many years. I just thought you should know that all of the money raised goes directly from this go fund me page straight to Kerryanne and Damien (no third parties apart from the go fund me page itself), and will be used for living expenses and mortgage repayments while they need to stay in Perth. It will also be used for travel expenses to and from Perth for Jades future treatment plan, and purchasing any specialised medical equipment they need before returning home.
Thank you all so much for your generosity and well wishes for Jade, hopefully she will be able to return home soon xox
