Miss Jada has been diagnosed with lymphoma.
There is no cure for her cancer, but with chemotherapy treatment, she can hopefully achieve remission and will have quality of life, which is always the goal!
Not only is Jada a beautiful black lab, and who doesn't love a black lab, but she is Therese's life. As a service dog, she is heavily relied upon to help with tasks most people take for granted. This makes their bond probably even more significant and meaningful. It is probably more like a marriage, and people would give anything and everything to try to help their significant other. Usually our pets rely on us like babies do for basic life necessities their entire lives, but in this case, it is completely mutual, and Jada was trained to do this work and has done it happily for the last 6+ years, and that's like 42 people years! Therese would like nothing more than to do all that is possible to keep Jada happy and feeling well while she does her job.
Unfortunately, lymphoma chemotherapy treatments do not come cheaply. This is where Therese needs everyone's help, as she is also currently struggling with her own health and financial status. The sooner she is able to get started with chemotherapy treatment, the better! That is what the funds are going toward as soon as possible. Lymphoma, like any other cancer, does not take any breaks!
