I'm honoured to have been selected to attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree 2019 which will be jointly hosted by Mexico, North America and Canada at The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, USA. A total of 63 scouts & guides will travel from Dorset in July 2019.
How did I get chosen? I worked hard on a written application and attended a selection camp to be selected from 120 appicants in the county to be given one of the 63 places. It's a massive priviledge to have the opportunity to represent the UK, being part of the UK contingent.
The Scout Association works with young people aged 6 to 25 to provide them with skills and knowledge that they might not learn elsewhere that helps us to develop and it exists to make young people's lives better, helping them realise their full potential and take their place in society. I am fundraising not only to help me get to the Jamboree, but also to help those that are underpriviledged from poorer countries attend and to do this I need your help!
During the next few weeks, I'll be building a fundraising campaign and planning events. I'm really committed to raising the whole amount to that I can use this opportunity to share our culture and customs from the UK with scouts from all around the world and also learn from them too so I can share that knowledge with scouts here on my return.
All donations here will be gratefully received and I'll also update with my other fundraising successes. If you have any ideas or opportunities that I can join to aid my target, please get in touch.
