Hi everyone,
Thank you for visiting our page. Today we had a consultation with TiMband to see whether Jacob would need a helmet for a cranial restructure, after our appointment we were told that jacob has severe plagiocephaly and mild brachycephaly along with right torricollis, Resulting in him having restricted movement turning his head to the right, favourtising his left hand side which has caused 'flat head syndrome' (plagiocephaly).
He will have to wear a helmet for 5 months for 23 hours a day to correct the shape of his head, along with having physiotheropy to help him with the movement in the right hand side of his neck. Not exactly what any baby should go through.
Jacob is having his helmet fitted within the week, as he is 6 months old he is at a good age for the treatment to work within a fairly short period of time compared to some. The treatment isn't something that the NHS fund anymore and isn't something in my eyes that can go untreated so for us as a family and those who are experiencing the same we are going to do the upmost we can to raise money.
My amazing brother is going to be running a marathon a day for 7 days to help us and many more who have this .
As a family we are going to do a 6 mile walk with the kiddies and the family in September, so all welcome.
