Jacob's Iron Man Hero Arm fund

Tax deductible

Hi, My name is Jacob. I live in a village in Bedfordshire called Eaton Bray and I'm 7 years old.

I was born with a limb difference, this means I was born unique and without my lower left arm and hand. Not for any reason, it's just how I was made. My mummy says I was born a superhero and MY superpower is to be strong in every way!

Throughout my life I have been given lots of prosthetic arms to help me crawl, use a knife and fork, ride my bike and play with my toys. Some have looked really cool and some I've tried to use for playing and riding my bike but they've been hard to use and sometimes don't work when I want to hold things.

I've always wanted a hand that works like my other hand and grabs in just the same way.

Me and Mummy went to an event and there I saw a stand with lots of different prosthetic arms and hands which was very cool, but then I saw an actual real life IRON MAN ARM! I ran over and it was a real robotic superhero arm called 'Hero Arm' made by Open Bionics. It was the coolest arm I've ever seen, that's when i asked my Mummy if I could have this arm, then i'll be a real life Superhero!

Here is the Hero Arm: -

We went to Open Bionics head office for an appointment with Kameron to see if I could work the hand and make it move correctly, and I could. I could open and close the hand, do thumbs up, OK, and the Spiderman web sign. I even picked up a tennis ball and dropped it using my arm muscles. It was the coolest thing.
If I was able to get the Iron Man Hero Arm from Open Bionics, I could do all the things I've always wanted to do like ride my scooter, play with lego easily and zip up my coat and play with my toys.

Thank you for reading about me and Thank you for any donations you can give to help me get the coolest arm ever! My Hero Arm!

Jacob xx
