Sara Naftolin and Jeff Whiteley were thrilled to announce they were having twin boys. Sara, being a caregiver to the Beaches neighbourhood in Toronto, was made to be a mother. Kids adore her and she adores them. Life is good, pregnancy went great and was speeding along with no complications. Suddenly at 27 weeks pregnant, Sara's water broke and their beautiful, tiny twin boys were born on Monday February 19th 2018 at 5:56pm. Jacob Roger Whiteley at 2.2lbs followed by Jasper Rick Whiteley at 2.05lbs.
These 2 perfect little boys are everything their parents could ask for and they were instantly in love.
With the boys being born so early, they knew there would be a fight to get them healthy and strong enough to leave the hospital.
Devastatingly at approximately 130pm on Tuesday February 27th at 9 days old, Jacob lost his fight due to a nasty infection. His parents and brothers are devastated and heartbroken. No family should have to go through the pain and loss that they are experiencing though the loss of their beautiful baby boy.
We are looking to set up this Go Fund Me account in order to help with some of the burden that Sara and Jeff are experiencing so they can focus all their energy into being with Jasper. Nobody knows how to help and a way we can all band together to help them is to help take the financial burden off of them. Sara lost her income months earlier than expected, Jeff is a roofer therefore when he doesn't work he doesn't get paid. Jasper needs both parents to be by his side in the hospital in order to get strong enough to come home. He has experienced so much loss already in his short life. Costs such as funeral arrangements for Jacob, huge parking fees at Sunnybrook hospital every day for the months to come, expensive hospital food, taxi's to get home late at night etc. All of these costs are adding up and the funds are not available.
We need to help take this burden off of them so they can grieve and focus all their energy on being with Jasper right now.
We are reaching out to family, friends, fellow Beachers and the generosity of strangers to please help this family in their time of need.
