Jacob Matthew Heist was born at 11:03 pm on December 26. He has been diagnosed as having hypoxia ischaemic encephalophy. He is currently being treated at Swedish hospital in Seattle and is in a medically induced coma to cool his brain and to give his body time to rest.
While called "Jacob's Medical Fund", the intention of this campaign is to help raise money so that finances will not be a concern for Jacob's parents, Matthew and Candace, during this time. The money may be used to pay for medical bills, lodging, food, travel and/or any other expenses that may arise due to Jacob's illness.
