Jacob Solano is a landscape laborer who was hit by a car a month ago. His foot was severely injured, being crushed and fractured. He also suffered deep contusions to his chest. This was a hit and run accident. Jacob is the primary-bread winner for his family and has 3 small children and a baby on the way. He is not able to work and it is unclear if he will ever be able to work as a landscape laborer again. This is all he knows how to do. Besides having to deal with his devastating injuries and pain, he also is dealing with the stress of figuring out what his future holds, given it is uncertain what his recovery will be.
Before this accident, he was able to provide for his family’s basic needs. He is now unemployed. His wife is doing whatever she can to keep the family afloat; but this is only temporary given the baby on the way. This family does not have health insurance. The flood of medical and rehabilitation bills are now just starting to come in, and this is only the beginning of a long road of medical treatments. This family is not sure how they are going to get through this, and feel hopeless. They need help and prayers.
Jacob will not be able to get the rehabilitation that he so desperately needs, as he can’t afford the payments. This rehabilitation will provide hope for his future as it will enable him to recover as best as possible, teach him how to live the rest of his life with the residual effects of the injury, and in the best scenario allow him to work again.
Ensuring that his family is fed and has a home to live in is another concern. These are the basic necessities of life that most of us are blessed with and take for granted.
It was hard for him to allow me to post this, as it is counter to his character to request financial help from others. However this is a desperate situation and this family needs help. I ask you to help this family in whatever way you can to get through this rough time. This campaign will remain active as long as this family has the need.
