Jacob Hobbs Racing - 2023 Race Programme

I am a 14-year-old racing driver, and I aim to make a career in motorsport. I currently race a Tony Kart 401R chassis in several Junior Rotax championships.

 

We established our own kart team in 2022, JHR Kart team (Jacob Hobbs Racing), starting from scratch. My Dad & I have worked hard to make the kart as competitive as possible and to build a team that is recognisable, successful and true to our values.

Our team is completely independent and exists for the sole purpose of providing Jacob a race winning kart. This enables him to compete against some of the best drivers out there, with the sole objective of getting Jacob noticed and providing him an opportunity to fulfill his dream of making a career motorsport. As a result we have branded ourselves fluorescent orange and black so we can’t be missed out on track. We have a full custom race livery on our race kart, proudly showing our sponsors and partners.

In my first year of racing, I hold the lap record at two different circuits. I am the 2022 endurance champion, vice-champion for the IKR Junior Rotax Championship, made it through to the final twelve in a nationwide scholarship programme, been on the podium twelve times and been awarded driver of the day three times…. All in 24 races over 11 months.

For 2023, Jacob and our JHR Kart team will compete in 4 karting championships throughout the United Kingdom on some of the most famous karting circuits in the UK as we move into the SuperOne National Karting Championship.

We will compete in a total of 28 races across 4 karting championships on ten different circuits throughout the country.

The Super One National Karting Championship. It is regarded as the premier karting championship in the UK, producing professional drivers including Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, David Coulthard, Alexander Albon, Dan Wheldon, Anthony Davidson, Jason Plato, Zhou Guanyu and more.

As you can imagine, this not only takes a lot of time and commitment, it takes a significant financial commitment. My Dad is determined to give me the best possible chance of a career in motorsport, but we can't do it on our own, so we have set this page up to reach out and hopefully find some additional sponsorship.
