Help Us Care For Baby Jack

Baby Jack is post Liver transplant, he has been diagnosed with Juvenile Xanthogranuloma Histiocytosis, he is the second person to ever have this disease manifest in such a way that it infiltrates the liver, affects the platelets and results in a Liver transplant.

Every single penny we have spare goes towards looking after Jack and when he is admitted to hospital our outgoings more than double. The money we have raised so far has kept our family afloat, it has kept us together when otherwise we would have been apart. Our outgoings during Jacks five months in hospital totalled £8000, without the money donated we really don't know what we would have done.

Jack is now at home with us after making a miraculous reviving post transplant. But having an organ transplanted brings a whole new, life long set of problems, let alone the risk of the original condition coming back. He will be re-admitted to hospital at some point, it is extremely unlikely that a transplant patient doesn't experience complications, even the common cold can lead to cancer in an immunosuppressed baby. The chance of his new veins, the new joints etc failing or becoming blocked is high and would require further surgery, the list of issues that can arise is huge!

Although we don't like to ask for handouts, in times of need we are forced to ask and every penny that people choose to donates touches our hearts, the kindness of people never ceases to amazes us.
