Jackson's Medical Aid & Family Help

Donation protected
My name is Rachelle Lawhorn and I am setting up this page to help raise money for our dear family. My sister-in-law and her husband are enduring some heavy medical & travel expenses after the birth of their son. They also have 2 dogs that will need boarding and attention while they are gone for several days at a time. You can read my short summary below and also check out my sister-in-law's blog via the link below for all the details of sweet baby Jackson's troubles. Please pray for this sweet baby and his family. May God bless them and keep them safe. Amen.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139: 13-14

On November 18th, 2014, a sweet and precious baby boy was born into this world in Midland, TX. His name is Jackson Serrentino and his parents, Amanda & Jose, were over the moon in love with him from the very second they saw him. Throughout Jackson's first month of life, he has endured so much more than the average adult person. Jackson was born with a heart defect and he has been so strong and brave. His mother and father have stood strong by his side to help him and provide him with the best doctors they could find. After a lot of panic and too many questions, Jackson was airlifted by helicoptor with is mom to Methodist Children's Hospital in San Antonio, TX days after he was born. After several tests and evaluations, doctors belived they had found the cause of Jackson's heart troubles. At one week old Jackson underwent one surgery to repair a pinched artery in his heart. Jackson recovered so well that he was sent home to Midland within a couple days after surgery. However, after his first checkup with the heart specialist in Midland, TX, Jackson was readmitted to Methodist Children's in San Antonio, TX. Amanda, Jose, & Jackson all loaded in the car to make the 5 hour drive to San Antonio. Shortly after arriving on Saturday morning, the doctors quickly scanned Jackson's heart to see what was causing his troubles. The doctors performed a procedure with a catheter and were able to determine the cause. Unfortunately, it was not the best of news, but not the worse. Jackson will need to undergo open heart surgery to repair his lelf mitral valve. Doctors are meeting this week to decide if Jackson is ready for this surgery or if a temporary fix is better until he gets older.

We ask that you read and keep up with Jackson's blog that his mom has set up to keep us all informed. You can find it here http://ourbabyjacksonbedingfield.wordpress.com/.

Amanda also posts quick updates on Instagram. You can find her profile here http://instagram.com/aserrentino .

The family asks to please continue to keep Jackson & his parents in your prayers. If you cannot donate, please share with others.
