Hi my name is Sarah and I want to tell you a little about my beloved city. I live in the Jackson metro area in Mississippi. You hear a lot of bad things about Jackson, mainly about the crime rates but what you don’t hear enough is about the homelessness. We have a few organizations that are amazing to help these people but like every other epidemic, there is just never enough space or resources to keep up with the demands. There is also never enough people that care to really make a difference. So here is where I tell you about the lady in the picture, Denise. She is out on the streets daily helping these people hands on. She brings them food and clothing, anything she can get her hands on. She’s is a kind and pure soul and this world needs more people like her hands down. She reaches out to organizations and churches and unfortunately doesn’t receive much help because we live in a very untrusting time and no one wants to hand over needed food or items (and god forbid money) to a “person” instead of a “cause”. But the truth is there could never be enough beds in a shelter or food in a soup kitchen to help all of these people and it takes angels on earth like Denise to get out there in real life and make a difference. You could never imagine what giving someone hygiene products, something warm and clean to wear, and something to fill their belly can do for a person. Knowing someone cares is what can change these peoples outlooks and motivate them to get off the streets and it can certainly be the difference between life and death. So if you’re looking for something good to do please consider donating. I can guarantee that it is going straight to the source of those who need it the most. ❤️
