Seventeen-year-old Jack Louden, from Sittingbourne, is taking on an incredible challenge to support his beloved village cricket club. This autumn, Jack will be running the Frankfurt Marathon to raise vital funds for Bredgar Cricket Club, a team with deep roots in the community.
The club was founded just after the war by Jack’s great-grandfather, Harold Ingram, and has been a cherished part of village life ever since. Cricket runs in the family – Jack has been playing since he was “as tall as the stumps,” and his brothers, cousins, and uncles all proudly wear the Bredgar colours. The club is known for being warm, friendly, and at the heart of the community.
But there’s one challenge off the pitch: the pavilion. After years of use, it has fallen into serious disrepair, and replacing it has long been a dream for players and supporters alike. Unfortunately, the club simply doesn’t have the funds to make it happen.
That’s where Jack’s determination comes in. Inspired by his love for the club and its history, he has been training extensively and is committed to completing the marathon to raise as much money as possible toward a new pavilion. His dedication and passion for both running and cricket are truly inspiring.
Jack is asking for sponsorship and support from anyone who can help – whether it’s a small donation or a larger contribution, every penny will bring the dream of a new pavilion closer.
Please support Jack’s marathon challenge and help secure the future of Bredgar Cricket Club for generations to come
