My name is Lyndsay. I am asking for help for my dog Jack. His birthday is April 19th, and he will be 15 years old. He has lived with my family his whole life.

Many people discouraged me from getting a Chihuahua because, at that time, my children were young. Chihuahuas are known to not be great family dogs or good with children. Not Jack; he is a fantastic and wonderful family dog. He loves car rides, snacks, walks (that aren't too long), his cat friends, long naps, more snacks, and kisses. Mostly, he loves all of us, and we love him too. He is a loyal and loving companion who has been by our side through his whole life and most of ours.

Jack unexpectedly became ill yesterday. We took him to the emergency animal clinic where he received pain medication, fluids, and antibiotics due to elevated liver enzymes. He has an emergency ultrasound scheduled for this afternoon.
