Jack Jack's Medical Bills

For those of you that know my sister Jamie and her husband Dennis, you know that their dogs are their world.  For those of you that do not know them, they rescued Jack (1.5 years old) and Juneau (2.5 years old) to give them the lives they each deserved.  Jack had been severely burned as a puppy when someone tortured him by pouring boiling oil on his back. Despite his traumatic start, Jamie, Dennis and Juneau brought Jack Jack into their home and gave him all the love he would ever need. They even added more love with their recent addition to their family, a baby sister!

Earlier this week, Jack developed difficulty breathing and an irregular heart beat which prompted them to bring Jack in to see their veterinarian. She performed an x-ray that showed he had an enlarged heart and fluid in his lungs and immediately called UPenn Vet in Philladelphia and sent her and Jack over for an emergency visit with a cardiologist.  The news only continued to get worse, Jack is suffering from congestive heart failure and has fluid backing up into his lungs and abdomen making it hard to breath and eat.  This morning after the head of cardiology did another ultrasound, he discovered that it is the worst-case scenario, the worst type of heart failure and has given him 6 months or less to live.  This afternoon, Jamie and Dennis went to visit Jack and were made aware that he is declining rapidly.  He will be staying overnight where he is being continuously monitored and medicated at UPenn.  As you can imagine it is very expensive!  Not only will they have to pay a hefty bill from UPenn but also her regular veterinarian, and eventually the cost to humanly euthanize him so he does not suffer.  If you all could share this and donate whatever it is that you can, it would be greatly appreciated and will help soften the financial burden of his medical bills. Jack is the most amazing, loveable little pit bull in the world, he did not deserve this.

This news is absolutely heartbreaking to Jamie and Dennis and all that know and love them and Jack. As some of you may know, Jamie and Dennis are VERY involved with Don't Bully Us Rescue group and they do so much to help others.

The plan right now is that Jack will hopefully be stable enough to come home tomorrow (11/2) and be reunited with his family and pup friends, and then he will complete his bucket list. Please continue to share this post, even if you cannot donate. Thank you all, I will do my best to update once we have more news.
