Jackies West Highland Way

Hello all, I hope you take the time to have a read of our page. This page has been set-up to raise funds for our colleague ( below) and The Douglas Grant Rehabilitation Centre of Ayrshire that has taken excellent care of him. Me and 6 of my colleagues have decided to cycle the West Highland Way (100 miles) over 3 days. This will take place on the Thursday 2nd - Saturday 4th April. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.


In early June of 2014 our colleague John McIntyre (Jackie) who is only 61 was at home when he suffered a brain haemorrhage. Over the next few months john underwent several complex operations and in all honesty it's a miracle he's here. That miracle comes in the form of the top Drs, Surgeons and Nursing staff of the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow. Thank you.

John then went to The Douglas Grant Rehabilitation Centre where he was very well looked after. Here he spent around 5 months where he made great progress with his rehabilitation and was getting home for weekends. Unfortunately since Christmas John has taken a few steps back and on Friday had his Fourteenth operation. We are hopeful that he will get back to the DGRC where he will recover and eventually get home.
