Hi, I'm Vicky, and I’m reaching out to share my youngest daughter Jackie’s journey and to ask for your support. It all began on Veterans Day when a tragic accident changed our lives forever. Jackie tripped and fell, suffering a severe spinal cord injury, and lay there for an agonizing 12 hours before her sister and I found her. Seeing her now, paralyzed from the chest down, breaks my heart every day. I’m determined to ensure that she can focus entirely on her recovery without added worries.

Jackie's road to healing requires not only her strength but also the support of those around her. I’m asking for help with her medical and living expenses during this incredibly challenging time. Every contribution will go towards necessary modifications to ensure she has a comfortable and accessible living space. While Jackie is able to lift her arms, she currently has no feeling from her hands or from her chest down. Thankfully, she is at Craig Hospital, one of the nation’s top rehab facilities in Denver, Colorado, where the care is truly remarkable. They do provide us with 30 days of free housing, but after that, we will face the reality of finding extended accommodations since spinal injury recovery can be a long and daunting journey.

The funds raised will help support Jackie’s ongoing care and the necessary modifications to my oldest daughter’s house, where we hope to make it a safe and welcoming environment for her. Right now, we are taking everything one day at a time, for that's all we can do. Jackie will be in rehab for 90 days, and it is my hope to ease her burden during this time.

As her mother, I want to lift some of the weight off her shoulders. I want her to be free to focus on her recovery without the added anxiety of what comes next.
