Jackie’s Open Heart Surgery

Jackie’s been referred to Dr. Schaff at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for Open Heart Surgery.  The surgery is scheduled for the end of March, although they are trying to get her in at an earlier date.  The heart Surgeon here has referred Dr. Schaff due to the complexity of the surgery.   The current recommended procedure is a Double Myectomy and Triple Bypass but will not be confirmed until she meets with Dr. Schaff.  She will be required to travel to Minnesota a week before surgery and we do not know how long she will need to stay there after surgery.  Unfortunately, this is something that has taken us all by surprise.  Aside from the travel expenses we anticipate there will be many medical expenses as well.   We have created this page for any of you who would like to help us in this time of need.   Any help is greatly appreciated.
