#JACKedUp

As the 2013 school year was getting ready to commence brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon at UNC Charlotte gathered for one of the signature chapter events of the new year, the Balanced Man Scholarship Banquet. Tremendous time and effort went in to the preparation and planning of the scholarship banquet which is usually the focal point of all SigEp programs as the year begins. However, the attention of every brother was somewhere else that night. 30 miles down the road there was a brother laying in a hospital bed who needed the support we knew only his brothers could give.

On August 24th, brother Jack Bretz was diagnosed with acute Leukemia. Jack Bretz defines, in every way, shape, and form, a SigEp man. He is the balanced and outstanding individual that we look for in every person - he will beat this cancer but he won't fight it alone. Help us as we try to continue to support Jack despite his time away from the university and his brothers as he kicks cancer's behind. "Shave a SigEp" is a philanthropy event that will be hosted over the next week where ALL proceeds will go to Leukemia research and treatment. The idea behind Shave a SigEp is clear, as Jack fights through chemotherapy and out patient procedures he will begin to lose his hair - but not without his brothers. Nearly 20 brothers are going join Jack by shaving their head and raising money for Leukemia research and treatment.

Help us support Jack, because on August 24th this became OUR fight.
