2017 Mexico Mission Trip

In April 2017, the Junior and Senior classes at Sacred Heart Apostolic School will be heading out for a mission trip to Mexico for Holy Week. It is part of the formation that we receive, and will help prepare us for our possible vocation to the Legion. It is a life-changing experience, as all of the previous missionaries have told us.
The plan is to head out the Friday before Holy Week, and to join up with the Mega Missions that take place during that time. We will be going to spread the gospel, do Catechism, and help out with other spiritual needs of the many small towns in Mexico.
This is such a blessing and a salvation for the many people down there who haven’t seen a priest in months, or been to Mass and confession for just as long. This is due to the shortage of priests and many people’s distant locations. What we will be doing is very important for the faith in Mexico.
We will do that for a week, and then head back the Monday after Easter Sunday. We are all buckling down to learn Spanish. It will be of great assistance!!!
We will also be visiting some of the Legionary houses in Mexico, such as one of the other Apostolic Schools around Mexico City. It will be really cool to see our brothers in formation in a different country, and for them to see us.
One of the most important things we will be doing is visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, in Mexico City. We are going to make a pilgrimage there, and bring to her the many prayer intentions that we’re trying to gather. If any of you have anything to pray for, please send those intentions to me, so that I can pray for them before Our Lady. That is a big reason for me to spread the news of our mission.
If you're able to support us financially, please know that any money I receive above the $1500 cost for myself, will enable other missionaries to make the trip who might have been unable to raise this amount for themselves. We're very grateful for any help you can provide.
And thank you especially for your prayers! I can feel that there is more behind me, pushing me forward, than just my own weak self.
I hope to send out updates of our mission to all, with lots of pictures and details of things that we did.
