Jack's Eagle Project - Gardening Boxes

Donation protected
Hi Everyone!

My name is Jack Weber. I am 14 years old and was born and raised in Indiana.  I started participating in the scouting program as a Tiger Scout in First Grade,  and I am currently a Life Scout. I am now working on my Eagle Scout project.

For my project, I will be leading the construction of garden boxes for the Senior Community at Traditions at North Willow for the purpose of providing a space for residents to garden.  Traditions at North Willow is part of a national nonprofit educational organization designed to enhance the quality of life for adults 50+.  The wood has been graciously donated by the woodworker who is also lending the use of his shop to the project.  This fundraiser is for the remaining materials needed to build, plants, and garden tools for the residents.  You can learn more about Traditions at North Willow by visiting their website: https://www.traditionsatnorthwillow.com/

In collaboration with the community and my scout leaders, I have been planning this project.

Why is this important?

Many residents are formerly farmers and miss the chance to garden.  My garden boxes will provide a chance for residents to care for the plants and resume an activity they have loved.  2 of the boxes will be "standing height" and 2 will be "wheelchair height" to allow residents of differing abilities to enjoy gardening.

Why I need your Help

As part of my project, I am responsible to raise the money to purchase all these supplies and see this project through.  The cost of all these supplies and rentals after the donated materials is about $550 dollars. Your funds and donations will make this project possible, improve the lives of the residents at Traditions at North Willow, help me and others grow as leaders and workers, and help me achieve my Eagle Scout. I appreciate all those who have read this Fundraising proposal and hope you will consider donating to this worthwhile cause.  We hope to raise enough money to have the boxes in place by mid to late June.

My Promise

I promise that all funds will go directly to the creation of these garden boxes, and I promise to see this project through its completion. In the event there are leftover funds, it will go directly to Traditions at North Willow to create a "garden fund" so they can purchase garden-related items that may be needed for the garden.  All donations will be greatly appreciated and will be the reason this project is possible.

Thank you for considering this Fundraising proposal, and I hope that you can help support this cause and my path to receiving the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest award in Boy Scouts.

Thank you so much!
