Jack's Cancer Fight(Dj Jack -Johnny's Hideaway)
I was recently diagnosed with Esophageal Stage 4 non curable CANCER(Adenocarcinoma) This has put our family in a difficult predicament as I am our sole support . My wife left her job a couple of years ago to become a full time caregiver to our youngest son Alec, who has Autism(non-verbal). With the loss of her job, we no longer have insurance and have not been able to afford Obama care. Cancer is devastating just to be diagnosed , Then your hit again financially. We have never been a family to put our hand out but, we need help ! I am not sure how much longer I can continue to work with chemotherapy and radiation treatments along with an up coming surgery . There will be NO funds even for the basic of needs let alone, medical bills. Without insurance(self pay) the hospital is requiring 20% of all procedures up front before they will continue with service. Yes, even with a payment plan. So with that being said, we are reaching out to family and friends . Anything you can give will be appreciated more than you know. Please share our story. May God bless you. Thank you Jack Peña+ Read More
Today, I went to Emory here in Atlanta for a second opinion on my cancer diagnosis. After careful review of my records and imaging. They have concluded that the original prognosis is correct. I have stage 4 non curable Esophageal cancer. That the coarse of treatment I am on is the best on for me. My life expectancy is 14 to 18 months. If I respond extremely well to treatment I may have 3 years. This is extremely disappointing and scary. My family and I are trying to mentally deal with this. Please continue to pray and contribute where you can. As you can see with the bills I have posted, the cost is out of control. We are doing all we can to stay afloat and be positive as we move forward in this journey .
Today is Monday 7/15 in today's mail we have chemotherapy bill for 2 rounds $44k and some change and $55k cardiologist bill, we also have lab bill for $630 & $744.00. oh the joys of CANCER and no insurance . When someone hears the word CANCER the only thing they should have to deal with from that moment forward is staying alive. Not wondering how they will be able to pay their bills or fees their family. The mailbox opening now causes my stomach to turn

Update as of July 1st. I am now a week into blood thinning treatment to help with the clot in my neck. The swelling has gone down for the most part. The doctors will keep me on this treatment for another 6 months. The first Rx filled for this treatment was $800 with a discount card each additional month will cost $480. I have an Echocardiogram scheduled for the 3rd to see if my heart is strong enough for another drug they want to add to my chemotherapy treatment. Round 3 begins on the 9th of July. Can't wait to see what the side effects of this well be. I have been places on medical leave from work due to the current side effects. Please continue to pray for me and my family.
