Susan EngPoole, his cherished wife told Jack's story:

"MERRY CHRISTMAS! The final chapter of Jack’s Christmas story—which is also YOUR Christmas story of love, peace and joy. Jack's Celebration of Life service will be January 11, 2018 at Unity of Louisville, 757 S. Brook Street, Louisville. 4:00 Visitation/reception, 6:00 pm Service and reception follows. For questions or more information, you may contact Unity of Louisville at [phone redacted] or Pinky Keefe Jackson at (502) [phone redacted]. Thank you!

At 4:00 a.m. Christmas Eve, Jack (my husband of 28 years), left his physical body and went to his Heavenly Home. We are all being birthed--this is a sacred time for each of us. Open your precious Christmas gift today and celebrate the birth of the Christ child as well as YOUR DIVINE BIRTH! Claim “I Am the Child of the Divine!”

On Jack's last night of earthly life, there was “No room in the inn” as Jack’s two daughters Jacquelyn Eckert and Deborah Tooke and I stayed with Jack at the hospital. Family members including our daughter Katy Avada, Jack's previous wife of 36 years, Marge Bradley and daughters Connie Poole, Janet Puckett, were taking turns to sit with Jack. Jacquelyn and I shared the one twin bed. We could fit if she had her head on one end of the bed and I had my head at the other end of the small bed. Debbie slept in the recliner. We went to sleep. Since I was on the half of the bed next to the wall, I couldn’t get up without disturbing Jacquelyn. There was a moment when I had an urge to get up to check on Jack but willed myself to stay so that I wouldn’t wake up Jacquelyn. The cramped sleeping arrangement was in divine order. Jack needed to go peacefully while we were asleep. Debbie woke at up 4:00 a.m. to discover that he was no longer breathing. His body was still warm so he had not been gone for long. When we’re in situations that look like “no room in the inn,” --things appearing to not go our way, something wondrous is going to happen, such as a miracle of new life.

Jack had invited friends and family to join him on a free 40 day program: www.teachersofgod.org  to stay focused on God. We are to watch our thoughts like a hawk. For Jack it was “significance vs significancer” (watching for signs of God’s good everywhere vs being distracted by all the signs and physical forms of illness in our lives and in our world.) Jack never had any fear as he stayed focused on God. Actually he was just being his natural self. Jack has had a longing for a connection to the Divine ever since I met him in seminary in 1984. But don’t we all have that longing? He was just more serious about direct experiences than anyone I know!

Just as Mother Mary’s time was fulfilled, the purpose of this precious time is to know that our time is fulfilled now in this intense time to complete our purpose --to live from love and not from fear. The purpose for Jack’s body has been fulfilled. The 40 days of processing the illness with Jack were holy days when we claimed our holiness.

Jack’s last moments with me were a continuous dripping of love tears rolling down my face and onto his right arm while gazing at his face. He believed that every face is the face of God. Today, Christmas, give yourself the best gift of all. Experience what it feels like to be deeply loved, because you ARE loved. Notice the signs and feel continuous love-drops being showered over you! Celebrate yourself as the beloved radiant Lovelight! Merry Christmas!"

Daddy wanted Susie to be provided for as do we. He would not want what little material assets he had in reserve to be spent on his own final expenses, nor to burden her with trying to figure out how to make ends meet.

So many of you asked how you could help and have related how Jack made such a tremendous impact on your lives.  His generosity in this earthly life knew no bounds.  On countless occasions, too many to number, when Jack sensed that someone, anyone was in temporary need of assistance along their path, his immdiate response was "let me help you."  A wealthy man by no means, Dad somehow found the means to dip into what God had provided him on this journey, and found enough to share and relieve the burden of the one standing before him.  He walked the walk.  He was gifted with the faith of the miracle worker. The Christ would not be denied in any capacity he believed himself to be lacking at the time.  He offered of his financial resources, he offered of his time to sit and assure, and then reassure, he offered lodging to the weary sojourner or to the one just passing through.

Well into his eighties, he assisted friends and strangers in ways a younger man's body would find exhausting.  When a situation would arise that seemed to demand leadership with none willing enough to grab the helm, Jack shied away from nothing.  He saw everything as a means to demonstrate love.  He would lead with grace.  Once Jack assumed leadership, people became more than willing to advise on how this should go and how that should be.  Jack listened patiently and appreciated their choice to now join in this demonstration of collective unity.  He never raised an eyebrow to those who wanted to express their views.

Jack was an unusual man, who saw Jesus Christ as his role model and met with understanding words others might consider less than loving.  To Jack, words were symbols of the demonstration of love or the call for love.  He had no enemies.

In this time of sorrow and celebration of a life well lived for those of us who remain behind to fulfill their earthly mission, let us take deep consideration of the demonstration that was Jack Poole. As Jack shared all his provisions, let us go to the spot in ourselves where Jack found the faith and courage to do so.  Your gracious generosity to Susie would be a testament to the love that Jack was and is.
