Hurricane Relief Fund: Jack & Jodi

We are Allan and Marie Black and we live in Marietta, Georgia.  Allan's brother, Jack, along with his wife Jodi and their children Nic, Natalie and Melissa are from Katy, Texas and have been dramatically affected in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.  We are asking for your prayers and financial support for them during this very difficult time.  

Jack and Jodi have lost everything on the bottom floor of their home and they just found out if they aren’t able to get into their home soon, they will lose everything in the home.  The water is 4 feet deep inside their house.  They are in Katy, Texas—at the heart of the Texas flood. 

They are the most loving and giving family you could know.  They work hard and are always helping others in their community and their church.  They are now in a desperate situation. 

Jack, Jodi and their 3 children (Nic, Natalie and Melissa) have been out in their community helping others during this flood.  They volunteered in one of the shelters helping hundreds of other Texans that had lost their homes too. They are now helping in animal shelters to assist with the thousands of animals misplaced from their homes.  That is who they are, always reaching out to others.  Nic and 2 friends took out a boat and started rescuing as many people and animals as they could. They have rescued hundreds already.  Nic has been wet since Saturday pulling people and animals out of houses and taking them to safe places.     

They had to move to a hotel on the day of the flood and will be there until September 7th.  They will then have to move to an unfurnished one bedroom apartment until at least February while their house is gutted and repaired.

FEMA is only giving them $500 to cover the thousands of dollars it will cost them over the next few months just in extra living expenses. 

Their flood insurance is very limited and to repair their home will cost them thousands.  The National Guard has now blocked their subdivision for safety reasons so they don’t even know the full extent of the damage.

They are now paying for a hotel, an apartment, house mortgage, cars and 2 children in college.  It is truly overwhelming for this precious family and we are asking for any assistance you could offer. 

These funds will be used for them to be able to rebuild their home from this devastating flood.

All funds will be distributed directly to Jack and Jodi.
