Bring Bubba Home

Donation protected
Marlon "Bubba" Brown is end stage renal disease. He is undergoing dialysis three times weekly and has been hospitalized several times this year due to complications. He was recently hospitalized in August and discharged to a Post Acute Care facility in Detroit just over a week ago. Marlon is unable to transfer closer to his hometown eight hours away in Tennessee due to rehabilitation. No one is certain of how long he will be in this facility because he was so ill that he was not able to walk. He is building his strength to come "home" sometime in the future. When he comes home, he will need around the clock care due to his debilitating condition. He is losing his sight and mobility. He will need assistance around his residence and to his appointments. His insurance does not cover costs of any outside caregivers. We are planning to move him back to Tennessee when he is strong enough to make the long trip. We will have to cover costs privately for transferring him. We will also have to find a place to accommodate his health needs . If we cannot find a place for his accommodations, we will have to modify our home to fit his needs . We do not want him in a nursing facility because that is not what he wants. If we can get him home and comfortable, that is what we want to do because his wishes are to be home. The funds we are trying to raise will go toward his private costs of caregivers and accommodations until we can get him situated at home near us or with us. He will have to be moved out of his twelfth floor apartment to something on ground level while he remains in Michigan once he is strong enough to leave the Post Acute Care facility. I am asking for prayers and generosity in getting him home because we do not want him to suffer alone in Detroit . He cannot be placed on a transplant list for his kidneys unless he has a support system and we are basically all he has . My husband cannot donate a kidney because of his health issues as well as the other living brother. Anything will be appreciated including prayers because time is limited for my brother in law . His health has debilitated in the past few months so much that he is being hospitalized more frequently for longer durations. A strong support system with his family may give him that extra drive not to give up on living. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers . Thank You and God bless!
