Mick's Road to Recovery

Mick is a dearly loved father, cherished husband, a son, brother and treasured friend to so many of us.

Humble, kind, strong, and playful, Mick is the heart of our community, someone who has always gone above and beyond to lend a hand, bring people together, and is always the first to step up and support all those lucky enough to know him.

Michael was recently in a motorcycle accident in which he suffered not only extensive broken bones, but also, sadly, a brain injury – the extent of which is yet to be realised.

Right now, Michael is hospitalised 250kms from home, having spent 3 days in an induced coma, 11 days in ICU, and at long last, has last week been moved to the Neurological unit at the John Hunter Hospital.

Unfortunately, as he is self-employed and the primary income earner, Mick’s family bears the additional stress of the loss of income for many, many months to come, if not longer.

Kate has been awe-struck by the rallying of Mick’s wonderful family, friends and customers, their overwhelmingly kind words and offers of support, with so many asking how to contribute to the cost of Mick’s forthcoming challenges. A credit to the very special man that he is.

We would therefore like to invite all those who have been touched by Mick’s generosity, to please consider donating toward the ongoing and considerable medical costs, travel expenses, as well as to hope to help keep his beloved family on their feet throughout Mick’s personal and professional recovery.
