Ann's Fund

At around 2:00 am, Ann Martin and her husband were evacuated from their home near Santa Rosa, CA.  With only the clothes on their backs, phones, laptops and their dog, they left to seek safety at a hotel far from the fires.  At some point the next morning, they learned from a friend that their neighborhood and their house had been completely destroyed by the fires.  At this point, they are working through all the questions many of us would shudder at the thought of.  What am I going to wear for clothes tonight or tomorrow?  How long are we going to be in this hotel?  What do we do now with everything gone? 

At this point, they don't have many more questions than answers, but as they work through things we can update this page.  For now, it is completely up to you how or what you want to give.Creativity is encouraged here, but please keep in mind that currently there is no physical address (but I will update if provided) and to be respectful of Ann's time as her and her husband still have much to figure out.

My name is Chris DeMorett and I am a friend and co-worker of Ann's.  I live in Colorado Springs where 4 years earlier we had fires that destroyed many families. I work with Ann and set up this page to help her out.  Setting up this page is a way to provide awareness and  a forum for those that want to help.  Aside from the 5% that goes to the site, anything that gets donated here will go to Ann with no strings attached to spend on food for the night, hotel, a deductable, or anything else she deems worthy as the many hurdles coming can't fully be predicted.  Further, any donations will not go through me, Ann will be set up as the beneficiary of the account for withdrawals.  All donations will be considered voluntary and the use of such funds will be at the sole discretion of Ann and family.  Alternatively, you are encouraged to find other ways to help out if you feel that you can provide a more direct alternative as the primary goal is to help a friend in need.
