Celebration of Life for Sue Kalter

Our daughter Sue’s courageous fight against Lung Cancer was unwavering and relentless. She wanted so much to be here as long as possible for Brian -the love of her life, her beloved son Stephen, her brother Jim, and her many loving family, friends and co-workers. Though her time with us was cut short, we will feel her presence for the rest of our lives.
Sue lived with a simple and clear determination – value time with your family and friends, be honest and sincere, work hard every day and always eat a fantastic meal with a glass of red wine. She loved Brian her best friend and husband passionately, she cherished her gentle “Bear” Stephen, and avidly filled each day cooking and caring for her garden. In her last days, she shared her connection with the Eat, Pray, Love book in her own life’s journey:
“Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.”

Family and friends will gather on March 25th to Celebrate Sue’s amazing life and support Brian, Stephen, and Jim as we remember and gain strength together. Many of you have been so kind with your outpouring of help and love. In lieu of flowers, contributions toward the celebration event would be appreciated. Further details regarding the Celebration of Her Life will follow shortly.
